As a testing laboratory, it is particularly important to us to always have the most up-to-date and most suitable method available for the test orders of our customers. We are always working on being able to include newly published standards or customer requests in our scope as quickly as possible.<\/p>\n

Thanks to the flexible accreditation, numerous new versions of test regulations and standards could be included in the accredited area this year.<\/p>\n

This year’s innovations mainly concern spark spectrometry. We are pleased to be able to check your orders according to the following standards, among others:<\/p>\n

  • ASTM E415-21<\/strong> Standard Test Method for Analysis of Carbon and Low-Alloy Steel by Spark Atomic Emission Spectrometry<\/li>\n
  • ASTM E2209-22<\/strong> Standard Test Method for Analysis of High Manganese Steel by Spark Atomic Emission Spectrometry<\/li>\n
  • ASTM E2994-21<\/strong> Standard Test Method for Analysis of Titanium Alloys by Spark Atomic Emission Spectrometry and Glow Discharge Atomic Emission Spectrometry<\/li>\n
  • ASTM E1086-22<\/strong> Standard Test Method for Analysis of Austenitic Stainless Steel by Spark Atomic Emission Spectrometry<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    In the field of metallography, too, two standards that are regularly used have been published with a new version. These two are now also part of our scope:<\/p>\n

    • (DIN EN) ISO 17639:2022-05<\/strong> Destructive tests on welds in metallic materials \u2013 Macroscopic and microscopic examination of welds<\/li>\n
    • (DIN EN) ISO 1463:2021-08<\/strong> Metallic and oxide coatings \u2013 Measurement of coating thickness \u2013 Microscopical method<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      A third standard was applied for inclusion in our scope in this year’s extension audit by the DAkkS:<\/p>\n

        \n
      • DIN 30902:2016-12<\/strong> Heat treatment of ferrous materials \u2013 Light-microscopical determination of the depth and porosity of the compound layer of nitrided and nitro-carburized ferrous parts<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        We will report if accredited test according to this standard can be carried out.<\/p>\n

        In the field of hardness testing, we have included a new standard for determining the thickness of hardened surface layers in steel in our scope:<\/p>\n

          \n
        • (DIN EN) ISO 18203:2022-07<\/strong> Steel – Determination of the thickness of surface-hardened layers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          This replaces three standards that can already be found in our accreditation certificate. Despite this new inclusion, we will keep the withdrawn standards DIN 50190-3:1979-03, DIN EN 10328:2005-04 and DIN EN ISO 2639:2003-04 and will also be able to offer accredited tests according to the outdated standards in the future.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>
