Customer-specific CRM reference material for CS determination by infrared method after combustion
TAZ GmbH successfully completed a certification project for one of the largest companies in the steel industry. A pig iron powder for carbon and sulfur analysis by means of infrared absorption after combustion was produced and certified. The specifications of DIN EN ISO 17034 and ISO Guide 35 were met.
The homogeneity of the total 600 kg of material was determined and evaluated in detail at TAZ GmbH. Subsequently, a characterization ring test was organized with nine competent testing laboratories and the material was characterized in a method-specific manner.
The results were statistically checked for possible outliers. After determining the expanded uncertainty from the homogeneity test and the characterization study, the values for the mass fractions of carbon and sulfur could be assigned and the results summarized in a certificate.
The customer thus receives a large quantity of certified reference material tailored to his needs. A report in the form of a laboratory comparison is provided for the participating laboratories.
TAZ GmbH has applied to the German Accreditation Body (DAkkS) for accreditation as a reference material manufacturer according to DIN EN ISO 17034.
